Twenty Olympic Champions registered for the Judo World Championships!

Twenty Olympic champions and twenty-eight world champions have registered for the OTP Bank Judo World Championships in Budapest, which kicks off on June 13 at the Papp László Sports Arena. The event is organized by the National Event Management Agency in cooperation with the Hungarian Judo Association and the International Judo Federation.

At the sport’s biggest event of the year, 566 judokas from 91 countries will compete, including twenty Olympic and twenty-eight world champion athletes, along with numerous Olympic, world, and continental medalists.

Based on the entry list, it has been confirmed that a Hungarian athlete is among the seeds: Szofi Özbas, ranked 11th in the world rankings, will be the seventh seed and will receive her opponent accordingly. The Hungarian national team will be represented by 21 athletes in the individual competitions, and our top judokas will also participate in the team event. The matchups will be determined at the championship draw, which will take place one day before the start, on June 12.

Tickets for the event can be purchased via the Eventim platform. Free entry has been provided by the organizers for members and clubs of the Hungarian Judo Association, all educational institutions in Hungary, as well as public health, law enforcement, and defense personnel.
