Aspiring world champions and journalists on the tatami

From 13 to 20 June, Budapest will host the World Judo Championships organised by the National Event Management Agency in cooperation with the International Judo Federation and the Hungarian Judo Federation. In connection with the sports event expected to be particularly exciting, the Hungarian Judo Federation organised an extraordinary press event on 29 April. Media staff had the opportunity to meet the members of the national team preparing for the world championships in Budapest, and they could even try themselves in the sport. At the event, Dr. Antal Kovács, professional vice president of the Hungarian Judo Federation, the only Olympic gold medallist of Hungarian judo so far, held a training for the journalists present.
Dr. László Tóth, President of the Hungarian Judo Federation, greeted those gathered around the tatami in UTE Ice Hall in Megyeri road. As he said, the organisers are doing everything they can to make the world championship in Budapest the best of its kind in the sport ever. Barna Bor, national judo manager said: after returning from the competition in Podgorica, where Szofi Özbas won her European Championship gold medal, there is not much rest for our best, as before the World Championships their programme will include another significant competition, the Grand Slam tournament in Kazakhstan, and several training camps. The team members taking part in the world championships is expected to be announced in the second half of May, and any open issues will be decided by the national championship results, which will be hosted by Zalaegerszeg on 17 May.
